Inspired by the dismay and melancholy of a part of his life, Schubert composes La Belle Meunière, a magnificent cycle of lieder telling the story of an inaccessible love, in which hope, disappointment and sadness parade, as in a personal quest. Instead of the piano, the voice of Christoph Prégardien unfolds on a magnificent arrangement for winds and strings by Denis Plante.
With the collaboration of the Arthur-Leblanc Quartet and Étienne Lafrance (double bass).
